At the Ilorin Township Stadium it promises to be fireworks all the way when Crown of Ogbomosho takes on visiting Lagos side C.O.D United in a crucial Week sixteen Nigeria National League 1D Game as the season reaches fever pitch with just three weekend, this weekend inclusive, of football action remaining before the end of the season.
The game takes on more significance with both Crown and C.O.D United on seventeen points in fifth and sixth respectively nine points adrift of table toppers Bayelsa United. A win for either side puts it back possibly in the hunt for promotion.
C.O.D United would be hoping to arrest the slide which has seen them win only once in the last five games losing two on the trot in the process against a Crown side looking to make it three wins in a row after back to back wins against Ila and top spot holders Bayelsa United.
Winger Peter Abakpa who has been sorely missed with those dashing runs down the wings is still on the comeback trail alongside Striker Shakiru Jolaoso but the good news is that battling midfielder Mohammed Jamilu has recovered from Injury to take his place in the squad for the game.
Ahead of the game Caretaker Coach Alabi Kazeem is adamant his team will pick up the three maximum points at stake in his first game in charge of the team after the exit of Coaches Samuel Abimbola and Bassey Iyang.
Personally I feel the team would benefit from the healthy changes in the team with getting a result against their hosts Crown almost inevitable.
