Homers C.O.D United moved closer to staying up in the Professional cadre with a commanding four-nil win over visiting Ajiroba Ooni at the Onikan Stadium which represented the biggest victory margin witnessed in the Division till date.
Shakiru Omobolaji opened the floodgate of goals in the nineteenth minute from the spot after Ajiroba Goalkeeper Ismail Odedele's foul on Taofeek Saka which was how proceedings remained until halftime.
On resumption it took only seven minutes for C.O.D United to double their lead through Segun Adeniyi who came up with a well-placed left curler which left the visiting Goalkeeper Ismail Odedele with no chance at all. Ifeanyi George added two goals in the space of two minutes, his first was from the spot in the sixty-eighth minute after Sileola Salaudeen elbowed Segun Adeniyi in his area in the process getting sent off deservedly while his second was a cool finish from a Daniel Jackson lay-off in the seventieth minute.
The home team would have scored more and even had the luxury of hitting the crossbar twice through the aforementioned Segun Adeniyi which came with added controversy whether the ball had crossed the line after hitting the post but those four goals still proved more than enough thus making it the heaviest defeat handed out to a losing team in the Nigeria National League Division 1D season till date.
